My experience has spanned over the last 50 years in engaging with young children, teenagers, older adults, and families through providing direct services and case management in alternative school settings, long-term care facilities, state and local agencies, and residential care. I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology as my major and sociology as my minor. I have a master’s degree in pastoral counseling. Through the journey of intervening in the lives of these populations, I have found that everyone has strengths. They need respect, understanding, and hope. Even the most challenging situations can be made better by recognizing the value of a person made in the image of God.
